Choose the Right Perfume Box Structure

The best structure depends on whether the box will sit on a retail shelf, be presented as a gift, or travel through an ecommerce fulfilment network. A more elaborate box is not automatically the better choice: added board, insert material and packing volume affect both unit cost and freight.

Engineer the Fit Around Your Actual Bottle

“50 ml” or “100 ml” describes fragrance capacity, not the bottle’s external footprint. Two bottles with the same fill volume may differ in shoulder shape, base width, cap height and weight. For an accurate quote, provide the bottle’s maximum width, depth and height including its cap, plus its filled weight. A physical bottle or a reliable technical drawing helps us validate the fit.

We can develop paperboard, molded-pulp or selected foam/EVA inserts where the presentation or protection requirement calls for one. The insert should support the bottle without hiding its design, allow practical packing and removal, and avoid contact points that may mark decorative finishes. Sample approval matters: digital renders show the proposed appearance, but the paid physical sample should be checked with the actual filled bottle. Confirm cap clearance, bottle movement, insert removal, lid action, color and finishing before authorizing mass production.

Materials, Printing and Brand Finishes

Choose printed paperboard for compact retail cartons or paper-wrapped rigid board for a more substantial gift presentation. Coated, uncoated and textured papers are available for review. The right stock depends on the box structure, printing process, target appearance and protection requirement—not on a single “luxury” label.

Brand color and graphics: Supply print-ready artwork and a Pantone or approved physical color reference where color matching is critical.
Foil, embossing and debossing: Use selectively for a logo or tactile detail; fine rules and large solid areas should be checked in sampling.
Matte, gloss or soft-touch finishes: Compare the physical feel as well as resistance to scuffing and fingerprints for the intended sales channel.

What is the MOQ for custom perfume boxes?

Our standard MOQ is 1,000 units per size and design. If you have several scents sharing one structure but different printed artwork, send the quantity for each design so we can assess the production plan accurately.

Can you make a box from the bottle capacity alone?

No. The capacity in millilitres does not provide the bottle’s outside dimensions. We need its maximum width, depth and height including the cap, plus filled weight, to recommend a box and insert.
