Flat-packed presentation packaging for small products

Custom Pillow Boxes Wholesale

A pillow box makes a compact product feel like a gift without the bulk of a rigid box. YiHongBox develops custom printed paperboard pillow boxes for jewelry, accessories, favors, sample kits and other small retail items—built around your product dimensions, branding and packing workflow.

We are a China-based custom packaging manufacturer serving business buyers in the United States, Canada, Australia and beyond. Choose the paperboard, print coverage, surface finish and closure details that fit your project. The standard minimum is 1,000 boxes per size and design; tell us your intended application and delivery address for a project-specific quotation.

Why Choose a Pillow Box?

The distinctive curved body and tucked ends create a softer silhouette than a conventional rectangular carton. Pillow boxes ship and store flat before assembly, making them useful when a retail team, event organizer or fulfillment partner needs to pack many small items. They also offer a broad front panel for artwork and a comparatively simple assembly sequence.

A pillow box is primarily a presentation pack. It is not a substitute for a protective shipping carton when the product is heavy, fragile or sent directly through a parcel network. For those applications, pair it with a suitable outer shipper and any required cushioning. If you need a more protective display structure, compare our custom folding cartons or custom jewelry boxes.

Retail accessories

Small jewelry pieces, scarves, hair accessories, socks and lightweight add-ons. Review the product’s real thickness, not only its front-facing dimensions.

Events and gifting

Welcome-pack items, favors and promotional sets that need quick hand packing and a coordinated colorway.

Samples and bundles

Beauty samples, sealed sachets, stationery and compact kits. Primary packaging must provide any product-contact barrier required by the contents.

Design the Curve Around the Product

Pillow-box sizing deserves more care than a simple length × width × height label suggests. The curved panels create a changing internal depth, while the ends narrow toward their closing points. We size from the actual object or sample pack-out, allowing for tissue, a card or a small insert where needed. A box that appears generous from the front can still pinch a thick product near the end flaps.

Procurement tip: send a product sample or its measured length, width, maximum thickness and weight. Tell us whether the item is packed loose, in a pouch, on a card or inside another primary pack. We can then recommend a starting dieline and verify it with a physical sample.

The end closure should remain secure during normal handling without forcing the paperboard into a sharp crease. For heavier contents, we may recommend a different board specification, added retention or an alternative carton structure. A physical sample is the best way to validate fit, closure feel and the speed of your packing process.

Materials, Printing and Finishes

Decision Common options What to check before approval
Paperboard White paperboard, natural kraft, colored stock or other suitable grades Product weight, desired stiffness, fold quality, print coverage and availability
Artwork Full-color printing, restrained spot colors or a single-color design Color target, seam position, safe areas near scores and visible front-panel alignment
Finish Matte or gloss coating, selected lamination, foil, embossing or debossing Rub performance, fold cracking risk, hand feel and any end-of-life claims
Opening Standard tucked crescent flaps; alternative details can be reviewed Repeated opening, tamper evidence, product retention and packing labor

Not every specialty finish is suitable for every board or curve. Foil, embossing and dense ink coverage near a score can behave differently after folding. Approve the final combination on a physical sample, especially when color accuracy or a premium uncoated feel matters. Our free design support covers dieline development and artwork-placement guidance; original brand illustration or a full identity design should be scoped separately.

If you are planning sustainability statements, specify the complete material construction—board, coating, window film if any, adhesive and ink. Fiber-based material alone does not guarantee local recyclability. For any FSC logo request, certification and trademark authorization must be confirmed for the exact supply chain. See FSC’s on-product labeling guidance.

Build a Consistent Range Without Repeating One Look

A shared pillow-box dieline can support several coordinated seasonal or SKU designs, as long as dimensions, stock and construction remain suitable for every item. Color, pattern, artwork placement and finish can create distinct presentations without changing the fundamental pack-out. Quantities and pricing are still reviewed by size and design; do not assume several artwork versions can be combined to reach one MOQ.

Pillow Box or Another Packaging Style?

Format Best starting point when you need… Watch-out
Pillow box A compact gift-like pack for a lightweight product, flat storage and quick hand assembly Curved interior limits usable volume and gives modest protection
Folding carton A more regular rectangular interior, clear shelf stacking or a fitted insert Usually less distinctive unless artwork and opening are developed carefully
Rigid jewelry box Premium reveal, repeat use or a fitted high-value presentation More material, storage volume and freight cube
Apparel box Folded garments or accessories with greater thickness Often oversized for a single small accessory

From Brief to Delivery

Share your brief

Send product dimensions, quantity by version, artwork, preferred material and delivery postcode.

Confirm the design

We review fit, dieline, print area, closure and quotation, with free structural and artwork-placement support.

Approve a sample

A paid physical sample typically takes about 7 days after specifications are confirmed; complex finishes may take longer.

Produce and ship

Bulk production is typically about 30 days after final approval. DDP can be quoted once destination and carton data are known.

These are planning lead times, not a guaranteed delivery date. Material availability, artwork revisions, finishing complexity, holidays and transport route can change the schedule. We confirm the project timeline before an order is placed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum order for custom pillow boxes?

Our standard MOQ is 1,000 units per size and design. For multiple sizes or artwork versions, provide the quantity of each so we can quote accurately.

Can I order a custom size rather than a standard pillow box?

Yes. We develop the dieline around your actual product and pack-out. The usable interior depth varies across the curve, so a sample fit check is important.

Are pillow boxes suitable for jewelry?

They can work well for lightweight jewelry when the piece is secured on a card, in a pouch or otherwise protected. For heavier or more fragile pieces, consider a fitted rigid jewelry box.

Can the boxes be shipped flat?

Paperboard pillow boxes are normally supplied flat for storage and assembled during packing. Confirm your preferred packing format and any pre-gluing needs at quotation.

Do you provide free design and samples?

We provide free structural, dieline and artwork-placement guidance. A physical sample is charged and is typically ready in about 7 days after details are agreed.

How long does bulk production take?

Typically about 30 days after the final artwork and physical sample are approved. We confirm timing for the actual material, process and quantity.

Can you deliver DDP to the US, Canada or Australia?

DDP can be quoted for those markets. Share the destination postcode, quantity and approved packing specification so freight and import handling can be assessed.

Can pillow boxes be used as direct-mail shipping boxes?

Usually they should be treated as presentation packaging, not a standalone parcel shipper. Use an appropriate outer carton and protection for the product and distribution route.

What details should I send for a quote?

Send product dimensions and weight, desired internal fit, quantity by design, material and finish preferences, artwork if available, sample needs, delivery postcode and required arrival date.
