Custom Lipstick Boxes for Beauty Brands and Packaging Buyers

YiHongBox makes custom paperboard outer boxes for single lipstick tubes. A lipstick carton gives you a compact retail face, room for brand and product information, and a repeatable pack for each shade. We size the structure around the closed, finished tube you will pack—not a generic lipstick dimension. These are secondary paperboard cartons; the lipstick tube itself is supplied separately unless agreed in the quotation.

Our standard production minimum is 1,000 boxes per size and printed design. We provide free structural and artwork-placement guidance; physical samples are charged. Sampling typically takes around 7 days once the specification is agreed, and bulk production typically takes around 30 days after sample and final artwork approval. We can assess a DDP quotation for destinations in the US, Canada and Australia when you provide the delivery ZIP or postal code.

Choose the Right Carton Construction

A straight-tuck or reverse-tuck folding carton is a practical starting point for a single lipstick tube. The flap direction depends on how the carton is filled, the display face and where the closure should sit. If the tube could rattle or turn inside the box, ask us to assess a folded paperboard insert or cradle. A window may be possible, but its position, size and any film choice need to be checked against the final structure and your market requirements.

Option When to consider it Check on the physical sample
Straight or reverse tuck Flat-shipped, compact retail carton for one closed tube Flap retention, fill orientation and clean closing
Paperboard cradle Extra restraint or a more deliberate unboxing presentation Tube movement, insertion time and removal
Die-cut window Showing part of the case or shade identifier Product visibility, remaining panel strength and dust protection

For broader carton choices, see our custom folding carton boxes and custom box inserts. If you sell wand-style tubes instead of bullet lipstick, the custom lip gloss boxes page covers that different format.

Measure the Tube Before Finalizing the Dieline

Please send the maximum outside height, width and depth of the fully closed lipstick tube, including the cap, base, raised details and any shrink band or label. A round tube still needs its widest diameter measured. Tell us whether the product will be hand-packed or packed on a line and whether a shade label or barcode must appear on an end panel. We use these details to recommend internal clearance and panel layout; a tube that is too tight can scuff, while excessive clearance can make a small carton feel unfinished.

A photo with a scale reference and, ideally, a physical tube help us evaluate the fit. Before production, test the paid sample with your actual closed tube, final cap and label, then confirm opening, closing, barcode readability and shelf orientation. Do not infer the finished size from the nominal lipstick fill weight.

Board, Print and Finishes

Depending on the approved structure, we can discuss coated paperboard, uncoated stocks or kraft-look board, plus matte or gloss surface treatments, foil accents, embossing and spot effects. The final material, caliper, print method and finish availability depend on the artwork, order specification and sample. We will confirm feasible combinations in the written quote rather than assuming every finish works on every board.

  • Artwork: Start from an approved dieline and keep folds, glue areas, bleed and small type in mind. Provide your logo, color references and print-ready artwork if available.
  • Shade ranges: Identify which elements stay common and which change for each shade. Quote quantities by printed design; the 1,000-unit minimum applies to each size and printed design.
  • Barcodes and copy: Reserve a readable panel for shade name, barcode and market-specific content supplied by your regulatory or brand team. Packaging production does not replace a cosmetics-label compliance review.
  • Color approval: Review a physical print sample when color matching is critical. Our CMYK vs Pantone packaging guide explains what to specify in the artwork brief.

What to Include in a Quote Request

  1. Closed tube dimensions and a photo or sample, including cap and any applied label.
  2. Preferred box structure, opening direction, insert or window requirements, and intended packing method.
  3. Board and finish preferences, artwork or brand references, barcode and shade-SKU plan.
  4. Quantity per size and printed design, starting from 1,000 units each.
  5. Destination country and ZIP or postal code, target delivery date, and whether you want DDP considered.

After we agree the specification, a charged physical sample typically takes around 7 days. Bulk manufacturing typically takes around 30 days after you approve the sample and artwork; complex finishes, several shade versions and shipping may extend the full schedule. Freight, duties, sample fee and any DDP scope are confirmed project by project.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MOQ for custom lipstick boxes?

Standard production begins at 1,000 boxes per size and printed design. Please list quantities for each shade or artwork version separately so we can price the real run.

Can one box design fit several lipstick shades?

Yes, if the closed tubes share the same outer dimensions, a common structural dieline may work. Different printed shade labels or panels still count as separate printed designs for quoting and MOQ.

Do you supply the lipstick tube and cosmetic formula?

This page covers the secondary paperboard outer box. The lipstick tube and cosmetic formula are not assumed to be included; tell us if you need a separate sourcing discussion.

Can you add an insert or a viewing window?

We can assess a fitted paperboard insert or die-cut window against your actual tube and artwork. The physical sample should confirm restraint, panel strength and filling practicality.

Are design help and physical samples free?

Structural and artwork-placement guidance is free. Physical samples are charged; we confirm the cost before making one.

How long do sampling and mass production take?

Sampling typically takes around 7 days after the specification is settled. Bulk production typically takes around 30 days after sample and final artwork approval. Your quote will give the project-specific schedule.

Can you quote DDP to the US, Canada or Australia?

DDP can be assessed for many destinations in these markets. Send the delivery ZIP or postal code and order details; freight, duties and the precise scope are confirmed in writing.

Are the photographs real customer orders?

No. The product images are original illustrative concepts for possible carton and print directions, not verified customer projects or approved production samples.
